Now that the Adelaide 6 hour event has concluded, we turn our attentions to the fitness and conditioning of our Murray Bridge Teams. Under the guidance of Mr Scott and Mr Fraser, students have been training during an early morning session on Mondays and Fridays over at Ravendale, running up to 5 kilometers 30-40 minutes prior and during their morning home-group time. Down at Maisha under the guidance of a personal trainer, students have been divided into two groups participating in training on either Tuesdays or Thursdays immediately after school. Student have loved the chance to participate in an hour long spin (cycling) class. However, the last few weeks have presented the Murray Bridge team with some challenging weather conditions. It would be nice to take a break if the weather was windy or raining but Mr Fraser's intense training inclusive of 5km runs on Mondays and Fridays together with a spin class on either Tuesdays or Thursdays is modified to go ahead regardless. Mr Fraser has come up with some creative ways to continue his intense training within the classroom. With only 6 weeks to go until the Murray Bridge event we wish the team luck and persistence in their early preparations. It is important that every opportunity to maintain and build engagement in physical activity is taken to ensure each member of the team is adequately prepared. Stay in touch and subscribe to the blog as this will provide an opportunity to follow the progress of these students over the next 6 weeks.
