9/21/2018 0 Comments The Journey BeginsThis year we broke up the 656km journey through to Murray Bridge with a sleep over at Samaritan College in Whyalla. This was the perfect spot to work through our pre-race safety briefings using their projectors and AV systems. It was also brilliant to to work with their commercial kitchens facilities to prepare our dinner of Spagetti Bolognese and breakfast in the morning. We left Whyalla at 7am and worked our way through to Port Wakefield for lunch before landing in Murray Bridge at 1.30pm.

So now that the Adelaide event has been concluded, we turn our attentions to the fitness and conditioning of our Murray Bridge Team. Under the guidance of Mr Jericho and Mr Fraser students have been training an early morning session on Tuesday's commencing at 7.15am and down at Maisha under the guidance of a personal trainer. The Maisha program also involves the students participating in a spin class for a portion of their time. Spin bikes are a stationery bike able to have resistance applied to the mechanisms to make it more difficult to pedal. A couple of our Year 7 riders from the Adelaide event have even taken it upon themselves to approach Mr Fraser to request a continuation of their cycling training. Good luck in your early preparations and take every opportunity to maintain and build your engagement in physical activity. |
